I’ve been sneaking Kareena some ice cream here and there since she was 5 months old. I haven’t been brave enough to give her a lot, fearing that she’ll get a sugar high or not go to sleep at night or mess up her little pearly whites. We were in vegas last month (i’ll be blogging about that very soon) and one of Kareena’s uncles had the most clever idea. If you know Kareena, then you know that it’s not that easy to have the special privilege of holding her. She’s very picky about who gets to hold her, and you would have to gain her trust first. Or so I thought. Apparently Uncle Truck found a better way to win her over (he’s been trying to hold her for longer than 10 seconds since she was born). What’s the secret, you ask? FOOD. FOOD. FOOD. You may try this at your own risk. Some have tried with cookies and pocky sticks and failed. But this one did the trick. Truck simply grabbed her and whisked her off to the ice cream station at the buffet we were having dinner at - so fast that she didn’t even have time to turn back to look for me. They came back with a chocolate ice cream cone - and a bond between them was instantly formed. New BFF’s?
Whoa, this is definitely one happy baby.
Uh oh. I think the sugar high is kicking in, and it’s kicking in fast! To give you some perspective, this was around 8:30 PM - 30 minutes past her bedtime.
Wow, she’s even posing in this picture with Truck.

I couldn’t even get her to look in the camera for a picture with me, let alone a pose. I’m jealous. She’s too busy enjoying the rest of her ice cream.

Well, being the ham that she is - the ice cream had zero effect on her. She knocked out like a bear once we got in the car. Lucky me. :)
For those of you who are still trying to win her over or looking to be able to hold her for more than 10 seconds, food is the key. That almost always does the trick. Don’t lose hope!
