I like cupcakes, but the only time i’ll eat one (or two) is when I see them at parties or special events. I’ve never gone out to buy them nor do I bake any. On Monday when we met up with Adrienne and Bo for dinner in LA, she surprised us with cupcakes from Dots in Pasadena. I’ve heard of and seen these types of cupcake boutiques on the Food Network, but I’ve never actually been to one. Every time I hear about them I just think, “a cupcake is a cupcake. Right? The whole night at dinner I could smell the sweet buttercream frosting on the cupcakes. Adrienne told me she got us Vanilla and Red Velvet. I LOVE red velvet cake. I was starting to pick at the tape thats holding down the flaps on the box - and then I stopped, because I knew I would just gobble them down. They’re really for Kareena, but Kareena isn’t really a cake person. She’s more into bread and pastry. She LOVES bread. I think she can eat bread all day if I let her. I finally got to open the box when we got home. They smelled SO good. It was totally against our diet plan and I know it would cost us an extra hour of boot camp, but we went for it. We ate the cupcakes. Kenny had the Vanilla one and I had the Red Velvet. It was really good. At least mine was. I guess one could say that it’s like any other cupcake. It sort of is. The cake itself was moist, the frosting was better than the ones from a tube or from the bakery section of the grocery store and the cupcake itself looked really pretty. I think the buttercream frosting is what makes it special. I’m really tempted to try the other flavors now.
If I ever have a craving for cupcakes, I would probably make a visit to Dots. I looked at their menu and I want to try the PB & Banana, Tiramisu, and Chocolate Mint. Oh yea, I didn’t eat all of the frosting. I scraped most of it off because it was really sweet. It was really good buttercream though! :)

Thanks again Adrienne, that was so sweet of you! I know you like cupcakes Adrienne, maybe we can try Sprinkles next time! You’ve got me wanting more!
