I had a really fun photo session with my dad and Kareena today. My parents do volunteer work at the Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights and every year, my dad would dress up as the God of Wealth for the Temple’s Chinese New Year festivities. He’d walk around the Temple and people would take photographs with him, touch him for good luck and give him red envelopes with a few dollars in it. I’ve been to those festivities and believe me, people flock to him as though he was actually the God of Wealth. It’s really fun to watch because he blushes easily when he gets so much attention. :)
The costume is beautiful - colorful and very detailed. This is the head piece.
Then the gown.
Kareena waiting patiently as my dad takes forever to get ready.
As we wait for my dad, I want to show you the accessories that came with Kareena’s Chinese New Year outfit. The shoes - they are so adorable!
And the matching pouch that’s going to be overflowing with red envelopes.
Ok, back to my dad. He’s finally ready. Kareena’s pulling him in.
The God of Wealth.
My beautiful baby!

Kareena, what are you doing? What are you drinking?! Kareena?

Seriously, these two are just plain goofy. Or maybe there was some weird drink in that golden goblet. Either way, I truly believe that all the goofy genes from my side of the family comes from my dad.

My mom is goofy too, but she’s camera shy. I got her to take one picture though. :)
Granpa, Kareena and Granma.
I can’t wait until Chinese New Year’s to take some more pictures! :)
